The distance between who you are and who you could have been always widens over the course of your life. Nobody will ever know just how far apart they are but you… and that distance is the true measure of a human being.

We all find many ways to sabotage our own potential. We put 60% effort into our jobs, our studies, our relationships. Doing that gives our egos a fallback position; if we really give it everything we’ve got, then it’s a personal failure if we don’t win, if we don’t succeed… but cheating on ourselves this way is corrosive of our spirit. There’s a real cost, to our souls, each and every time we slack off, and in the long run, the cost is tremendous.

That’s why we need to bring it, everyday and in everything we do, and never settle for less than our best effort.
